*this is a system message, not an error*
If you receive an error "The connection for this site is not secure", or an SSL error attempting to log in, please contact your local system support.
It is a local browser error, it is not a PIEE, account, or certifiicate error.
Troubleshooting of this error must occur locally with someone who has local system administrator access to the affected PC.
Try this first: Fully clear your browser, and system temporary internet cache, cookies, and SSL cache. (See below)
Possible solutions
- Fully clear your browser, and system temporary internet cache, cookies, and SSL cache. (See below)
- Complete the Machine Setup under New User on the website (link below)
- Correct the system date and time
- reinstall root certificates
Machine Setup steps found on https://piee.eb.mil/xhtml/unauth/web/homepage/machineSetup.xhtml
To fully clear your cache, cookies and SSL Cache:
From the Start menu search for “Internet Options”
- On the General Tab
- Under Browsing History click Delete
- Uncheck "Preserve Favorites Website Data" [if available]
- Check "Temporary Internet Files" [if unchecked]
- Check "Cookies" [if unchecked]
- Click Delete
- On the Content Tab
ON Edge and Chrome
- Settings > Privacy > Clear browsing data
- Select - All Time for the timeframe
- Cookies and other site data
- Cached images and files
- Site Settings
- click “Clear data” and restart the browser
If still unsuccessful, disable all browser extensions, reset browsers to default settings, clear browser and Internet cache and clear ssl state.
Add "cac.piee.eb.mil" and "piee.eb.mil" to the trusted sites list. Reset advanced internet options to its default state.
Verify system date and time settings are valid, and local antivirus or firewall settings are not blocking SSL connections to piee.eb.mil or cac.piee.eb.mil, and that there are no known network communication issues.
